There are two key things I always highlight whenever I respond to this question. The first is that it’s a great time to be an HR and talent industry professional in China right now. This is regardless if you’re pursuing an in-house HR role or HR-services side career providing HR consulting, training, or recruitment services to companies or individuals.
中国经济正在经历大转变,因为经济正从劳动力密集型的手工业转向以顾客、服务和知识为导向的行业。要想在这种更健康的经济模型下继续保持成功,许多行业和企业要进行人才升级和补充。因此,对于这个市场上的每个公司来说,应对重大人力资源和人才挑战是一个至关重要的任务。这就意味着,对于这个领域的专家来说,我们有相当好的机会。
China’s entire economy is going through major changes as it shifts from a manufacturing and labor-based to more consumer, services, and knowledge-oriented one. This healthier economic model requires a significant upgrade and new supply of talent for many industries and businesses to continue to be successful. As a result, the ability to meet significant human resources and talent challenges is mission critical for just about every company in this market. That means excellent career opportunities for professionals in this space.

The other key thing I always mention, however, is that China’s recruitment industry is becoming increasingly more mature, competitive, professional, and selective. Traditionally, the industry here has a reputation for being very sales-oriented, and not very professional overall. If you’re aggressive, persistent, results-driven, and can make 50-100 calls a day, then you could make a good living as a recruiter.
但是,现在,企业对于猎头的标准和期待都提高了。客户希望他们使用的猎头能更加专业、有更好的服务质量、更多市场情报、价值以及经验。因此,对于那些只具备传统招聘技能的猎头来说,日子不太好过。但是,如果你是个比较专业,以服务和结果为导向的猎头,你就能够成为客户真正的顾问。那么你就非常能适应当前中国猎头行业的发展方向。专业猎头将会是能为你带来成功和乐趣的职业。
But now, the standards and expectations that companies have for recruiters have risen. Clients want more professionalism, service quality, market intelligence, value, and expertise from the recruiters they use. So for those who only possess these traditional recruitment skills, times are getting tougher. But if you’re someone who is more professional, service- and solutions-oriented, and able to be more of a true consultant to clients, then you ‘re a good fit for the direction that China’s recruitment industry is going. And becoming a professional recruiter can be a career that you’ll be successful at and enjoy pursuing.
